Israeli soldiers arrested five "wanted" Palestinians during operations overnight Monday in the West Bank.

Two Fatah activists were arrested in Nablus, while in a village west of Ramallah, another two Palestinians wanted for questioning were detained. Meanwhile, a fifth Palestinian was arrested in Jenin.

According to locals, the army was also tightening the closure on Nablus and the surrounding villages.

Elsewhere, on Tuesday, a loud boom was heard in Gaza City and Palestinian police later said it was caused by

Israeli fighter planes swooping low over the city.
