ALBAWABA - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard attacked Israel with more over 200 ballistic missiles on October 1, 2024, targeting vital military and strategic sites.

According to Suleiman Maswadeh, Channel 11's political reporter, Israel's reaction to Iran would be tightly coordinated with the US. "This situation has a high potential for escalation, so it must be managed carefully to avoid surprising Israel's allies in Washington," he cited Israeli officials as saying.

Maswadeh continued, saying that the incident is the subject of serious talks between the United States and Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden in the next few days.

Yaron Avraham, the political reporter for Channel 12, went on to say that the expected Israeli reaction is "harsh and fully coordinated with the U.S., likely to be executed within days." He cited officials in the Israeli cabinet who said, "This response is necessary and will exact a heavy toll on Iran's regime."

Channel 13 military expert Alon Ben David emphasized how challenging Israel's situation is in the area. He pointed out the conflict between the need of taking revenge on Iran and the anxiety of being sucked into a major conflict.

Kobi Morom, a national security specialist, expressed worries about the overestimation of Israel's capacity to target Iranian nuclear installations on its own. He underlined that U.S. collaboration would be necessary for such an operation and questioned if Washington would take a direct role.

Regarding the matter of Gazan hostages, Suleiman Maswadeh verified that talks had come to a standstill. According to him, "the matter is not currently on the agenda in security discussions," and he quoted authorities as stating, "We are at an almost complete impasse, with no response from the other side."
