Four Palestinians were wounded Tuesday, one seriously, when Israeli soldiers opened fire on Palestinians passing by a military checkpoint in the West Bank city of Hebron, medical sources said.

They told the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, that the four were wounded when occupation troops shot at a number of Palestinians passing by a military checkpoint located northwest of Kharrath village in the city.

Israel has made Hebron into a flashpoint for violence by "settling" over 400 of its nationals in the occupied Palestinian city.

Since the September 2000 eruption of the latest Palestinian uprising against 34 years of military occupation, Israeli troops have killed over 620 Palestinains. Around 167 Israelis have been killed in the same period.

Human rights groups reports indicate that nearly 100 Palestinian children have been killed under circumstances in which the occupation forces were in no immediate danger – Albawaba.com
