ALBAWABA - The Israeli police announced earlier today that it had detained Sabah Abdel Salam Haniyeh, sister of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh from her home in Tel Sheva.

The Israeli police launched an investigation into alleged "terror" allegations, with the involvement of the Israeli Shabak. A police spokesperson said that Haniyeh is "suspected of having contact with Hamas operatives and identifying with the organization while inciting and supporting acts of terrorism in Israel".

The Israeli police claimed to have found "documents, media, telephones, other findings and evidence linking her to the commission of serious security offenses against the State of Israel" as they raided Haniyeh's sister. She is due to be arraigned in the Be'er Sheva Magistrate Court on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner Amir Cohen claimed that the detention of Sabah Haniyeh is aimed at "safeguarding the peace and security of Israeli citizens,".

Ismail Haniyeh, who currently resides in Qatar, is the current head of Hamas’s political bureau.
