An Israeli soldier was killed Wednesday in a knife attack in the West Bank. The incident occurred south of the West Bank city of Nablus. The Palestinian who carried out the attack has been detained by Israeli forces.
Press reports said the soldier had been in his jeep, driving from the direction of Ramallah toward Nablus, when he was approached by the Palestinian, who reached into the vehicle and stabbed the man near his heart. The soldier tried to flee in his vehicle, which later overturned.
