ALBAWABA - According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, an Israeli airstrike on an Eastern Lebanese town killed at least five people and injured 20, only hours after four were reportedly killed in a strike on the south.

"Israeli enemy strikes on the Bekaa Valley killed one person and wounded 20 others," Health Ministry said in a statement.

A Hezbollah source, who requested anonymity, told AFP that numerous attacks hit east Lebanon near the city of Baalbek, including the town of Nabi Sheet, but did not identify what was targeted.

A local medical source told AFP that five children under the age of ten, all from the same family, were among the injured. The attacks around midnight followed similar assaults in the Bekaa area on Monday evening, which Israel said targeted "Hezbollah weapons storage facilities".

Hezbollah confirmed that four of its fighters had been killed, after the health ministry's announcement on Tuesday that four people had perished in Israeli strikes in the southern border hamlet of Dhayra.

The Lebanese group claimed a series of attacks against Israeli troops and locations, including the launch of Katyusha rockets at multiple northern Israeli military sites in apparent retribution for Israeli strikes, particularly in Dhayra.

In reaction to Monday night's attacks in the Bekaa Valley, Hezbollah said it fired "squadrons of explosive-laden drones" and "intense rocket barrages" at various Israeli locations on the disputed Golan Heights.

Lebanon's health ministry said three emergency professionals from the Hezbollah-affiliated Islamic Health Committee were injured Tuesday after the Israeli military "targeted them" in south Lebanon, inflicting "significant damage to the ambulance they were traveling in".
