Israeli hardliner Ariel Sharon, whose right-wing Likud party has been invited to join an emergency government, will be in Paris on Tuesday for a rally of supporters, the party's organization in France said Friday.

Sharon's visit to the al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem two weeks ago was regarded as a provocation by Palestinians and set off the current spiral of violence.

His France trip has been condemned by a group of Arab and left-wing organizations.

"This visit is the ultimate provocation. We believe this person should be indicted at an international court, judged and convicted. His place is not in France," they said in a statement - JERUSALEM (AFP)
