Israel's chief of staff, Shaul Mofaz, will start on February 14 a three-day visit to Turkey for "strategic talks," reported the Jerusalem Post newspaper Sunday.

According to the daily, talks will focus on the situation in Iran and Iraq as well as Syria's rising missile capabilities.

It added that both sides will discuss ways of strengthening cooperation in combating terrorism.

Mofaz will visit Turkish air bases near Ankara, and will be briefed by Turkish military generals on the current security status and perceptions of threats in the region, according to the Post.

Meanwhile, Turkey's decision last week to scrap a 249-million-dollar-spy satellite deal with France revived Israeli hopes for the tender, said the paper, adding that Mofaz's visit will tackle this issue -- Albawaba.com
