Israel's security forces arrested three Palestinians Tuesday from the village of Hussan near the West Bank town of Bethlehem, reported the Jerusalem Post newspaper.

The three are allegedly accused of taking part in clashes against the Israeli army as well as attacking two Jewish settlers who were travelling near the village Monday night.

The two settlers, said the paper, were moderately injured.

In the meantime, the paper said that armed Palestinians on Tuesday opened fire on Israeli soldiers near Nablus.

The soldiers returned the fire, said the paper, adding that there were no reports of injuries.

On Monday, clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli army flared in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, said the paper, but said that there were no injuries among the two sides.

The Jerusalem Post also said that a roadside bomb was detonated as an Israeli convoy, carrying Jewish settlers, traveled from the Muntar crossing toward the Jewish settlement of Netzarim in Gaza.

No one was injured, said the paper -- Albawaba.com
