Two American women were detained at Istanbul's airport early Monday after authorities found 25 kilograms
of cocaine in a suitcase, police and news reports said.
Police said customs authorities found the cocaine in a
suitcase belonging to one of the women. Anatolia news agency said she arrived on a flight from Frankfurt,
Germany.
Another U.S. citizen who had been waiting for the
passenger at the airport was also detained, Anatolia added.
Turkish media placed the value of the cocaine at US$5
million. The news agency said the drugs were believed to have come from Brazil. (Albawaba.com)
