It’s fun and it’s for free
In times when there is a price attached to everything, Modhesh Fun City offers many options of free play and learning for its visitors
Children like choice and at Modhesh Fun City, they are spoilt for choice! Gaming options and activities are all over the place. While some keep little ones busy playing, others keep them occupied with crafts and creative learning. From among the many zones at the venue, sponsored this year by du - the integrated telecom service provider in the UAE, around twenty zones offer opportunities of free fun.
Ahmed Ali, the Manager of Modhesh Fun City listed a few of them – PSP zone, Spacetoon Rally racing zone, Zommorudah zone, Under Construction zone, Magic play zone, Arts and Craft zone, RTA zone, Flik Flak zone, Splashy & Sparky zone, Mirinda zone, Marmum Superstar zone, Toy Store zone, Sports zone and the ‘Mum I’m here’ zone.
“While some zones engage the children in simple activities like colouring and drawing, others have an elaborate set of things to do for their guests. There are gifts in store for the best participant. It’s nice to see children of so many different regions sit together and share their ideas as they play together,” added Ahmed.
Though the most sought after free play zone is the PSP stand with four units installed; the other zones are no less crowded. At the Mirinda zone, children engage in basic art activities coupled with puzzle games and karaoke. Prizes and weekly draws are held for the children. And at the Marmum superstar zone, kids can enjoy free juices as they colour on the provided pictures of Modhesh. This zone also runs magician shows for all to see on the weekends. At the Zamurdah zone, children are encouraged to use their imagination and create cards and picture frames – the winners receive colouring books and comics of their favourite cartoon characters.
Indeed, it is all about enjoyment and thrill at Modhesh Fun City. But some zones are teaching kids on specific issues that can make their tomorrow brighter and better. For instance, the RTA zone and the Splashy & Sparky zone; children are taught interesting lessons in the respective fields so that they grow to be responsible citizens. While RTA has set up a mini road track for young ones and organises edutaining games on traffic rules, DEWA holds puppet shows and group activities to ensure children understand the importance of our resources of electricity and water.
However, that’s not all there to learn here. Youngsters like to make time to enjoy at the Flik Flak zone where children as small as four years of age can be time tellers within minutes! The zone also runs daily competitions on the fun stage, giving away prizes to winners and participants.
“The core message is fun, but a touch of learning, a message of responsibility has been added. We want the kids to work and play together. The zones like the Magic play zone, Sports zone and the Under construction zone are all equally important because they teach kids to share, to take turns and be polite. I am very happy with the efforts of our participant zones and hope to welcome them again in the coming season,” he concluded.
