Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi has conveyed a message to United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan expressing his greetings, wishing him continuous success and prosperity to the people of the UAE.
The message was conveyed to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Court of the President, by Antonio Marzano, the Italian Industry Minister, who met with him.
According to Gulf News, Ciampi expressed his appreciation for the historical role played by Sheikh Zayed in establishing the UAE Federation.
In addition, he praised his wise policies, aimed at maintaining peace and economic growth while preserving the social and historical traditions of the UAE people.
Ciampi also expressed satisfaction at the excellent relations, which exist between Italy and the UAE, which he defined as the key in promoting multifaceted cooperation.
Moreover, the Italian president said the UAE is one of Italy's most prominent trade partners among Arab countries, and wished that the existing relations would strengthen through mutual cooperation in all sectors.
