Jacky’s Middle East LLC, the distribution arm of the Jacky’s Group of Companies, displayed its state-of-the-art queuing systems at the recently concluded Middle East Council for Shopping Centres 2008 (MECSC) exhibition held from April 21-22, 2008. Showcasing some of the world’s largest malls and landmark projects, the exhibition has emerged as an ideal platform for mall owners and other industry stalwarts.
Jacky’s displayed the state-of-the-art ‘Traf-Sys footfall counting system’ and its all new Kiosk solution perfectly tailored for the contemporary shopping malls and high profile retail outlets.
“A look at the regional retail landscape reflects that it has undergone a sea change in the last few months. New brands are steadily making an appearance on the horizon and international companies having realised the potential of the market are setting base here. The obvious destination for now is the flamboyant Mideast market extending its lead over other western countries,” said Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky’s Group.
“Keeping this dynamic market environment in mind we have designed the footfall counting system and the kiosk solution to provide an enhanced retail experience.”
The ‘Traf-Sys footfall counting system’, a unique product, can provide detailed zone wise reports about mall visitors. It is able to register mall occupancy in different zones, which assists the management and staff to meet security and administration needs, as well as plan their business strategy.
The well-thought out system integration between ‘Traf-Sys footfall counting system’ and the mall’s automatically controlled air-conditioning system can help to reduce wastage of electricity thereby minimizing electricity bills and simultaneously addressing environmental concerns. Its powerful reporting software makes it the first choice for key decision makers of major shopping malls who need comprehensive data on day to day statistics.
Jacky’s also displayed its new Kiosk solution that offers different options like interactive directory of the retail outlets in the shopping mall, customer feedback survey, Taxi booking in the waiting queue of the shopping mall amongst other custom-built features to provide an enhanced experience.
“The system has been specially designed to provide visitors a hassle-free shopping experience,” said Panjabi. “The way it works is quite simple; all you need to do is book a Q-number by entering your mobile phone numbers. Subsequently, you will receive an SMS accepting your request and inviting you to board the vehicle. The text message will be sent to you on a first-come-first basis. Visitors will also have an option to choose a convenient timing for getting a taxi if they are aware of the exact number of hours they intend to spend in the mall. All one needs to do is key-in the desired time and the system will register the request.”
According to officials from MECSC, the Gulf had 7.75 million square meters of Gross Leasable Area of organized retail space, a 2.1 million square meter increase on the previous year. The innovative mall developments of the region are quite applauded globally and this coupled with a continued surge in tourism arrivals and increasing footfalls, equates to a very promising future for the retail sector.
The Middle East Council of Shopping Centres, affiliated to the New York based International Council of Shopping Centers is the regional body representing shopping mall owners, developers, marketing managers, leasing managers and specialists, retailers, consultants, property managers, financiers, accountants, government officials and industry suppliers. The event currently in its 13th year is a major highlight on the industry calendar with a focus on best practices, environmental sustainability, investment and development.
“MECSC serves as a leading platform for us to promote our products to potential customers in the region. An exciting networking arena, it helped us shortlist our potential business partners as well. This is our 2nd consecutive year of participation and we look forward to building our existing relationship and wish to continue to participate in its forthcoming editions,” concluded Panjabi.
