Japan has granted Dh1.24 million ($109,000) to Moroccan associations undertaking social projects in rural areas, reported the official Maghrebe Arab Presse (MAP) on Monday.
The grant will in part finance a solar-pumping well system to supply drinking water to 650 inhabitants of a village near Ouarzazate, said the agency.
A similar pumping system will also be installed for the irrigation of 400 hectares of olive trees for the benefit of 150 families.
Two associations will use the donations to purchase ambulances for isolated communities of 12,000 inhabitants and 14,000 inhabitants, MAP added – Albawaba.com
