Jazeera Airways, the Middle East’s first private passenger airline, this weekend launched its direct flights between Kuwait and the resort destination Sharm El Sheikh. The airline flies twice a week from Kuwait to the city every Thursday and Sunday, operating brand new Airbus A320s, all fitted with leather seats.
Marwan Boodai, Chairman and CEO of Jazeera Airways, said “Sharm El Sheikh is one of the most popular and developed tourist resort communities in the Middle East, offering travelers’ luxury hotels, shopping, entertainment and water sports. Jazeera Airways will further stimulate the city’s tourism growth by providing a new link directly from Kuwait to Sharm El Sheikh,”
Sharm El Sheikh is the first of a series of new destinations to be launched by Jazeera Airways in the coming weeks.  Travelers may book their flights through jazeeraairways.com or by contacting their travel agents. The newly enhanced website allows travelers to book, pay and reserve their seats online and even change their booking right up to three hours before flight. Travelers can alternatively book their tickets through the customer support call center or through their chosen travel agents.

The airline also operates weekly flights to Alexandria, Luxor, and Assiut.
“Having successfully launched 14 destinations since we began flying in October 2005, we offer our customers increased options for travel to Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Sub continent. We are confident that this new route will be very popular and look forward to serving a record number of customers this summer.” added Boodai.
Jazeera Airways operates a fleet of new Airbus A320 aircraft all fitted with leather seats, and has maintained an on-time performance of 93% throughout 2006.  Today, Jazeera Airways remains as the only operating Middle Eastern airline that is neither owned nor subsidized by any government.
