JCT&I partners with AMC to establish a new branch of Cozmo Supermarket within the Abdali Mall project

The Jordan Center for Trade and Investment (JCT&I), which owns and operates the Cozmo chain of supermarkets in the Kingdom, has signed an agreement with Abdali Mall Company (AMC), to establish another full-size Cozmo Supermarket store on the mall premises.

The agreement was signed by the CEO of JCT&I Imad Bukhari and the General Director of the Abdali Mall Company Eng. Marwan Abu Hassan, AMC which owns and develops the Abdali Mall project. The signing took place on Tuesday, August 31st 2010 at the JCT&I headquarters at the Cozmo building, making JCT&I the first anchor tenant of the Abdali Mall, in the presence of CEO of URCJ Eng. Abdelmajid Kabariti.

Officially named the Central Market Place Project, the Abdali Mall will cover an area of 33,000 square meters of land in the heart of the Abdali central business district. The project consists of a spacious leasable commercial and entertainment hotspot that boasts a dynamic modern design and a myriad of multipurpose outlets. The project is set to reinvent the new downtown of Amman, within Abdali area by vastly improving its aesthetic appeal and transforming it into a trendy, vibrant urban location.

This initiative falls in line with the ongoing expansion of the Cozmo brand in the Kingdom, which aims to carry its unique retail shopping experience to key locations around the Kingdom. The expansion will deliver a full lineup of retail centers offering high quality products and exceptional service. The new Cozmo Supermarket at the Abdali Mall, set to launch in mid 2013, will extend over 4660 square meters of the mall to become one of the major landmarks of the Abdali area.

The two shareholders for Abdali Mall Company (AMC) the owner and developer for the project are United Real Estate Co. – Jordan (URCJ) 60% and Abdali Investment and Development Psc. 40%. United Real Estate Co. – Jordan (URCJ) is owned by United Real Estate Company –Kuwait (URCK), which is a subsidiary of Kuwait Projects Company (Holding) – KIPCO Group – one of the biggest diversified companies in the Middle East and North Africa.

Since its establishment in 2003, JCT&I has pioneered the local retail shopping industry. In addition to Cozmo, the company owns and operates several other large-scale projects, including franchises of British Home Stores (BHS) and Hamleys Toy Store, in addition to the renowned Readers bookstore.
