Jewish settlers were attacking with machine guns Palestinian houses in the West Bank city of Hebron late Sunday, while other flocks of settlers assaulted residents of Old City of Jerusalem, reported the Palestinian TV.
Meanwhile, thousands of people took to the streets in the cities of Ramallah and Jenin as they heard of a similar attack earlier in the Arab city of Nazareth residents who were under a fierce attack by Jews, added the station.
A Palestinian was killed in the Jews’ attack, a hospital source said, quoted by AFP.
Mohammed Omar Akawi, 42, was shot in the heart, the source said.
250 Arabs were also injured in the aggression, Al Jazira satellite channel reported.
It was not immediately clear whether he was killed by the Israeli police, or by a gunman among the mobs of Jewish youths rampaging in the streets of the town, clashing with local Arabs after damaging their property.
The station said that Palestinians were using mosques’ loudspeakers to call for help when thousands of Jewish extremists were attacking the east quarter of Nazareth, backed by police forces, reported Al Jazira.
Residents in the city told the palestinian TV that there was a power cutoff while clashes were still raging.
11 Palestinians inside Israel had been killed in clashes with security forces during protests against Israeli massacres of the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.
Arab member of Knesset Azmi Bishara told Al Jazira that he would call for international protection if the Jews continue with such terrorist attacks.
In an interview with Albawaba.com Sunday, Bishara described the situation in the Arab community in Israel as unsafe, and charged that the police themselves have been practicing ethnical discrimination against the Arabs.
Al Jazira quoted Nazareth city hall officials as holding the Israeli authorities responsible for the safety of the Arabs.
Also on Saturday, four Palestinians, including two policemen, were injured when Israeli troops opened fire, said AFP, quoting a Palestinian police source.
The two police officers, whose injuries were not life-threatening, had been patrolling the town center when their vehicle was fired on by Israeli troops, the source said.
