Number of unemployed Palestinians in Gaza strip has risen to 78,866 including 1,165 women as a result of the six-month Israeli siege on the Palestinian regions, according to a report released on Monday by the Palestinian labor department.
The report said the total figure of the workers, registered in the employment bureau, reached 105,145 including 6,929 women. The report said the public department for employment received, last month, 215 work licenses for Palestinians to work in the agricultural sector in Israel.
Number of the Palestinian workers in the industrial Erez zone reached 4,601 including 118 women.
The department received 688 payment order for those who formerly worked in Israel -- including 179 retirement pensions.
The number of those registered at the vocational training of the ministry in Gaza provinces reached 466 students, including 97 females, said the report. (albawaba.com)
