Third Rock From The Sun actor John Lithgow has a new vocation in life; introducing children to music.
The television star has turned children's author in a bid to
teach kids about all the different instruments in the orchestra.
His book, Farkle McBride, tells the tale of a little boy who
joins a children's orchestra and after trying out a host of
instruments, and decides conducting is his favorite pastime.
The book goes hand-in-hand with a real life children's orchestra
Lithgow is putting together this weekend, October 15th at Los Angeles' University College.
He says, "It's really a child's guide to the orchestra.
"It feels like a totally different career, a different kind of
entertaining, it's exhilarating. It's also involved writing a lot
of songs.
"It's wonderful to reach my age and to try something completely
new and have so much fun." – Wenn.
