Jordan's King Abdullah has announced plans to strengthen his country’s armed forces with a new air defense system and two new kinds of anti-tank missiles, officials said Monday.
The Monarch told army officers on Sunday that the air force and the army will obtain the new weapons later on this month or early next year, officials were quoted as saying by Petra news agency.
In addition, the King announced a 10-dinar a month pay rise in the salaries of personnel from the armed forces, the public security department, the general intelligence department and the civil defense department as of January. (Albawaba.com)
