The Jordanian Education Ministry will open 50 new kindergartens in the country's underprivileged areas as of the coming scholastic year, a ministry official told Jordan Times.
"Although this in an important stage in a child's development, particularly in the formation of his/her personality, only 25 per cent of children of kindergarten age - five years - enroll in KG classes," Mahmoud Massad, the ministry's director for education and educational activities told English daily in a recent interview.
"There is no justification for the large gap between first grade enrolment at 99 per cent and KG at only 25 per cent," he said – Albawaba.com
