Jordan's King Abdullah II dissolves parliament, names Hani al-Mulki new PM

According to Roya News, Jordan's King Abdullah II has appointed Hani al-Mulki to replace Abdullah Ensour as the new Prime Minister, and issued a royal decree to dissolve parliament on May 29, 2016. 

King Abdullah II also dissolved parliament in 2012 in "a constitutional move to pave the way for elections" the following year, accourding to Reuters

Jordanian parliament's last meeting discussed allowing Israeli companies to invest in Jordan. The King endorsed the decision and issued a decree to end the exceptional session at the end of last week.

According to A-Wakeel News, the King appointed Hani al-Mulki to be in charge of forming a new government. Al-Mulki's responsibilities include choosing new ministers, appointing candidates, creating new ministries, and merging or ending existing ministries. Al-Mulki is a Jordanian politican who served as Foreign Minister in 2004-2005 and served as Jordan's ambassador to Egypt.

According to Article 34 in the Jordanian constitution, the King convenes the National Assembly, inaugurates it, adjourns it, and prorogues it in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and he may dissolve the House of Representatives.
