Visiting Sudanese President Omar Bashir and Jordan's King Abdullah II expressed their support for the attempts of the Palestinians and Syrians to recover territories occupied by Israel, a Jordanian official said Thursday.

In talks late Wednesday, they called for greater efforts by all parties concerned to overcome the remaining obstacles to the peace process, the official said.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with relations between their two countries, which have been strengthened particularly on the economic front in the past year.

In July, the Jordanian cement company started selling its products in Africa through Port Sudan, the main Sudanese port on the Red Sea, with the aim of opening up new markets in Africa.
