King Abdullah II of Jordan begins Monday his two-day visit to Moscow, where he is expected to discuss developments in the Palestinian occupied territories as well as the Iraqi crisis.
An official source at the Jordanian Royal Diwan told Kuwait News Agency that the Monarch will hold talks, which he described as "important and detailed", with high-ranking Russian officials to be topped by a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Discussions will focus on the accelerating developments of sensitive issues that concern both parties, especially regional matters and their reflections on the international arena.
According to KUNA, the Jordanian-Russian summit will look into the means of calming the tense situation in the Middle East region, resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Palestinian territories, as well as the reaction over the Iraqi issue, the source stated.
In addition, the same source said that King Abdullah's visit to Russia, which is the forth since he became King in February 1999, aims at reinforcing relations of cooperation between Amman and Moscow, notably in the economy field. (Albawaba.com)
