Germany signed on Sunday soft loans agreements with Jordan worth DM50.7 million, to finance the development of water sector in the country.
According to German officials, this amount is significant as it roughly exceeds the annual pledge designated for this year in financial cooperation between the two countries, the Amman-based Jordan Times said.
Hans Callie, KFW director for the Middle East and North Africa was quoted as saying that “DM20 million will be injected into the second phase of Amman's water supply project and DM30.7 million will be injected into the Irbid and Jerash water loss reduction project.”
Callie added that the DM500 million that have so far been invested into Jordan's water sector, underline the importance and dedication of both governments to further technical investment and promote careful utilisation of the resource – Albawaba.com
