The 18th Jordan International Rally, the fourth round of the Middle East Rally Championship will launch on 11th May.

Officials at the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan told Albawaba.com that more than 27 Jordanian, Arab and international drivers are expected to compete in the two-day event for both Group A and Group N.

The most significant driver in the rally is UAE's Mohammad bin Sulayem in his Ford Focus WRC. He had ceased nine victories in this rally since 1984, and already added ten Middle East championships to his achievements list.

The first day's stages, the number and distances of which had not yet been disclosed, will run on mostly mountainous routes and trails, while the second day's will be desert trails, including stages near the Dead Sea, the lowest stages in the world that pose much challenge to the performance of car engines – Albawaba.com.
