Official source at the Hashemite Royal Court on Sunday afternoon announced that the visit of King Abdullah II in Ramallah was postponed because of "bad weather conditions."
According to Petra, the official added that heavy fog and low clouds hindered the helicopters from taking off, adding that many attempts were made to make the flight for about four hours but low clouds obstructed the visit. The official noted that there will be contacts with the Palestinian leadership to set a new date for the visit as soon as possible.
Al-Jazeera TV reported the real reason for the cancellation was Israel's refusal to allow Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to join the Jordanian monarch's meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
