ALBAWABA - The Jordanian Armed Forces reaffirmed today that no military aircraft from any engaged party has been allowed to traverse Jordanian airspace amid Israel-Iran tensions. This follows Israeli attacks on Iranian military sites.

A high-ranking Jordanian Armed Forces source said, “Our airspace has not been used by any aircraft from conflicting parties in the region,” referring to Israel and Iran's tensions. The source told Al-Mamlaka, Jordan's national radio, that “The Royal Air Force has been monitoring the situation closely and remains on high alert to safeguard Jordan's sovereignty.”

Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly criticized Israel's attacks on Iranian targets, saying that they might destabilize the region. Jordan's Ministry called the Israeli attacks a “dangerous escalation,” saying they might escalate regional conflict.

Israel said its Saturday attacks targeted Iranian missile manufacturing and defense installations. The operation apparently retaliated for an October 1 Iranian missile offensive that fired approximately 200 missiles against Israel, most of which were intercepted.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry called the Israeli attacks a “violation of international law and an infringement on Iran’s sovereignty.” Ministry spokeswoman Sufian Qudah said, “The Kingdom firmly rejects this dangerous escalation and violations of international norms.” He predicted a “potential slide into conflict that could jeopardize regional stability and global security.”

Qudah also urged the international community to stop Israel's military attacks in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon immediately. He said de-escalation was necessary “to protect the security and stability of the region from the catastrophic implications of continued aggression.”
