Jordan Telecom Group’s subscriber base witnessed an increase of 6.7%, reaching (2.93) Million subscribers at the end of June 2010, compared to (2.75) Million subscribers as of year end 2009. This increase is linked to our competitive offers in the market which resulted in a growth in our mobile and broadband subscriber's base.

The Group managed to sustain its consolidated revenue compared to the same period last year to reach JD 196.0 million with a very slight decrease by (0.2)% despite the aimed price wars and the difficult economic situation.

 


Operating Expenses:

Jordan Telecom Group’s operating expenses before Depreciation and Amortization witnessed an increase of 2.8% to reach JD 111.5 million as of end of June 2010 against JD 108.5 million in the same period last year. This increase came as a result of launching new advertising campaigns to support our new offers towards a very competitive market as well as loyalty promotions & programs to our existing subscribers to thank them for their loyalty in addition to the increase in the interconnection costs.

Gross Operating Margin (EBITDA):

Earning before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization for the group dropped by (3.8) %, to reach JD 84.5 million as end of June 2010. This drop is mainly linked to the increase in the operating expenses.


The EBITDA margin for the Group reached 43.1% as end of June 2010, compared to 44.7% for the same period last year.


Profit for the Period:

Jordan Telecom Group generated JD 45.6 million as net profit after tax as end of June 2010, a decrease by (10.9)% compared to the same period last year, this decrease linked mainly to the drop in our gross operating income in addition to the reduction in finance income due to lower interest rates on bank deposits.  
 

 

Capital Expenditures (CAPEX):

CAPEX for Jordan telecom group reached 16.4 MJD at the end of June 2010 with an increase of 10.2% compared with end of June 2009.
