Jordan's army chief of staff Lieutenant General Yousef Malkawi was due in Israel early Monday to meet Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak ahead of talks with King Abdullah II Tuesday, reported the Jerusalem Post newspaper, quoting an official.
"The Jordanian army chief of staff will be received by a guard of honor at the Israeli army headquarters in Tel Aviv Monday morning. He will also meet the prime minister on Monday and a number of military officials," the official in Barak's office said.
"This is Malkawi's first visit in Israel and its purpose is to deepen the ties between the two countries," she added - Albawaba.com
