jordanian duty free announced winners of its second monthly raffle draw

As part of its ongoing aims to present its visitors with premium quality services coupled with a comfortable and enjoyable environment for shopping, the Jordanian Duty Free Corporation launched its 2007 Summer Campaign this July with a grand prize offered each month worth US$ 10,000. This month the company held its second raffle draw on Tuesday September 11th 2007 at the Jabber Duty Free Shops located on the Jordanian Syrian border. This month, Mr. Ghazi Nimran Ali Al-Awaysheh from Jordan, Mr. Khalid Saed from Syria and Mr. Amin Awad Mohammad Al-Rimawi from Palestine were announced as the event’s lucky winners for the month of August.

During the same event the management of the Jordanian Duty Free shop also repeated the raffle draw for last month’s first prize, as they were unable to get in contact with last month’s grand prize winner. The winner of last month’s JD10, 000 prize was announced to be Mr. Yussif Hasan Yussif from Palestine. It is also worth mentioning that last month’s second prize winner donated his award to charity.

Throughout the campaign‘s duration JDF will be offering shoppers 1 ticket for each US$ 50 or equivalent they spend. These tickets will be entered into a monthly raffle draw, held at a different JDF outlet each month.  The campaign is designed so that the more purchases one makes from the outlets the more chances he or she has to win, by spending US$ 100; shoppers get a second ticket and so on and the winners’ names will be announced in the local media.

Mr. Omar Hawamdeh, Sales and Marketing Director of the Jordanian Duty Free Shops Corporation announced the names of this month’s winners at a press conference he held on the same day at the event’s location. The raffle draw itself was held in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Mr. Al-Awaysheh received US$ 10,000 in cash, while the second place winner Mr. Saed received a Flatron TV set, and Mr. Al-Rimawi the 3rd grand prize won a fully integrated Stereo Hi Fi System.

Congratulating the winners Mr. Hawamdeh said., “First and foremost I would like to congratulate our second draw winners, as we at the Jordanian Duty Free Shops Corporation are proud to see the high level of participation that this campaign reaped. This campaign stems directly from our aims to provide for both our Jordanian and foreign guests a unique shopping experience all year round as we secure for them an inviting environment”.

It is important to note that the Jabber crossing duty free shops were first inaugurated in April 1998. The shops are situated on the northern borders of Jordan with Syria and consist of two separate shops: one for departures and the other for arrivals.

Communing further on this fact, Mr. Haitham Majali General Manager of the Jordanian Duty Free company said, “We decided to hold this raffle draw at the Jabber crossing outlet because we feel that it is worth promoting. We recently renovated the Jabber shops thus converting them into the ideal location for Jordanian and foreign travelers leaving and entering the country from that point to shop”.

The summer campaign was launched as part of the firm’s strategy to commend and reward its clients’ loyalty, and to ensure that its services continually surpass the norm.
