Five Jordanian students are currently studying at Ort Brauda College in Karmiel, Israeli Wires agency reported Saturday.

According to the agency, seven other Jordanian students have applied to the college, including two female students slated to begin their studies next month.

Officials at Ort Brauda were quoted by the agency as saying that the initial experience of the Jordanian students generated great interest amongst their Jordanian peers back home, many of whom are interested in applying to Ort Brauda to study engineering. Jordanian students receive scholarships and reside in college dormitories.

Students who graduate from Israeli colleges are likely to face difficulty in empolyment and careers due to the strong presence of anti-normalization activity in the kingdom, which signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994.

Professional associations, dominated by Islamists, are undertaking the anti-normalization crusade and blacklist all companies or individuals who have contacts with the Jewish state – Albawaba.com
