ALBAWABA - Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced in a statement on Monday that two citizens held by Israel since Sept. 8 are finally released.
The Ministry said in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) that citizens Musleh Al-Awdat and Hussein Al-Naimat arrived in Jordan, weeks after the shooting attack on the Palestinian side of the King Hussein Bridge.
On Sept. 8, a Jordanian truck driver, named Maher Al Jazi, shot dead three Israeli security men on the Palestinian side of the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Bridge). Al Jazi was also killed at the site of the accident.
Israeli authorities returned the body of Maher Al Jazi on Sept. 16, Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates revealed last Tuesday.
The Ministry's spokesperson, Sufian Al-Qudah, revealed that since the shooting on Sept. 8, Jordan had actively monitored the situation of the detained citizens.
In addition, he maintained that the country coordinated closely with the relevant Jordanian authorities, and efforts were made to expedite their return.
