Jordinvest Holds Corporate Governance Seminar with Financial Service Volunteer Corps

In an effort to further optimize company performance and maximize efficiency, Jordinvest hosted an internal and interactive round-table on corporate governance with Ms. Eleanor Bloxhman, a volunteer from the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC) at the Sheraton Hotel.

Ms. Bloxham an expert in corporate governance is the Founder and President of the Value Alliance and the former director of KPMG. She is also the author of two books entitled Value-led Organizations and Economic Value Management: Applications and Techniques. Her work is highly regarded in the corporate governance field and often used as operational doctrines for corporation directors across the globe.

During the round-table, Ms. Bloxham shared with Jordinvest's board members and its management team unique approaches pertaining to upgrading the firm's practices, policies and methods of operations that are inline with the demands of the regional market.  Ms. Bloxham also addressed issues related to board structuring as well as tools to boost bottom line return.
Furthermore, Ms. Bloxham spoke from her rich personal professional experience as long term adviser for both global firms and start up companies to guide Jordinvest in restructuring it’s management policy.
Commenting on the meeting proceedings Chairman/CEO of Jordinvest, Mr. Ahmad Tantash said, "We, at Jordinvest are advocates of effectual corporate governance and are firm believers that it is imperative for maintaining our clients’ and the general public’s confidence.  We must establish complete trust in our sector through corporate governance to create a solid anchor for sound management practices. Mr. Tantash added that developing a comprehensive understanding on corporate governance is of ample importance for a firm with such high standing like Jordinvest. "Corporate governance is paramount to individual companies and broader economic development.  Ms. Bloxham’s presentation will help further strengthen our relationships with all our clients and our shareholders. We, at Jordinvest, have lately taken a considerable interest in this area of administration. As a high profile organization, we aim to act with the utmost professionalism and efficiency towards our stakeholders, our team, and the communities in which we operate in at large," he added.

On her part, Ms. Bloxham commented on her meeting with Mr. Tantash and other members of the team: “Mr. Tantash and Jordinvest comments show commitment to strengthening corporate governance.”

FSVC is a New York based not-for profit private public partnership providing financial sector technical assistance to emerging markets. The FSVC program in Jordan is funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and since May 2004 has conducted with over thirty projects in core areas such as risk management, anti-money laundering, SME banking and deposit insurance.  FSVC Jordan Country Director, Marina Theodotou, comments: “FSVC is a small but agile not-for-profit organization bringing to Jordan targeted practical expertise with volunteers such as Ms. Eleanor Bloxham in response to the needs of the Jordan financial sector”. In this particular Corporate Governance project, FSVC Volunteer expertise responded to organizations such as Jordinvest, the International Women’s Forum Leadership Enhancement Program (LEMP) and the Social Security Investment Unit.
