A judge here has issued an injunction freezing the vote recount process in Palm Beach County in the disputed US presidential race, the Palm Beach Post reported Friday.

The daily said Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Kathleen Kroll issued a temporary injunction late Thursday preventing the county's elections canvassing board from releasing the ballots before a court hearing next week.

Two lawsuits have been filed in state court here, seeking a new vote after criticism that a confusing ballot design and disqualified ballots may have changed the outcome of the US presidential race.

The newspaper said the injunction was requested by two Boca voters who alleged they were cheated out of their right to vote because the county's two-sided ballot was illegally confusing -- WEST PALM BEACH (AFP)
