ALBAWABA - Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz has emphasized Israel's willingness to take serious action in response to persistent threats by reiterating his warning to strike the Houthi movement's leadership in Yemen, which is supported by Iran.
“We will hold Houthi leaders accountable in Sana’a and across Yemen,” Katz said while touring an Israeli outpost outfitted with Iron Dome air defense systems. After calling the day's missile launches from Yemen the beginning of "the first missile war in the sky," he said, "We will not tolerate continued Houthi aggression against Israel any longer."
This most recent warning comes after Katz made a clear threat to attack Houthi officials in Yemen in a prior remark on Monday. He made reference to previous Israeli operations against enemies when he said, "We will repeat what we have done to Haniyeh, Sinwar, and Nasrallah in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon in Hudaydah and Sana'a." Katz promised to deal a "significant blow" to the organization supported by Iran.
On the other hand, the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier was preparing for possible attacks against the Houthis, according to a statement sent by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
The increased language highlights the rising conflicts in the area as Israel and its allies indicate that they are prepared to face Houthi troops.
