Joins Jordan Tourism Board in enticing Russian tourists to discover ‘a kingdom of treasures’

Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea is attending the Moscow International Travel and Tourism (MITT) exhibition on 21 March 2007 at the Krasnaya Presnya Expo-Centre in the hopes of luring a growing number of Russian tourists to visit The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the region’s most exciting wellness and leisure destination.
With more than 100,000 people expected to visit the show, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea hopes to make its presence felt at Russia’s biggest travel event by showcasing its various leisure and wellness offers to local and international tour and travel operators who will be participating in the exposition.
“Estimates by the World Travel Organisation indicate 28 million Russians traveled abroad in 2006 and this figure is expected to grow by 12 percent in the coming years. We are keen to tap into this huge market, and along with the Jordan Tourism Board, we would like attract Russian tourists to come and explore the various leisure and wellness offers of our hotel, as well as many other astonishing tourist spots in Jordan,” said Duncan O’Rourke, Regional Director and General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea.
Set against the famed splendour of the Dead Sea, the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar opened in May last year and was instantly hailed as one of the region’s best Resorts, providing a unique and luxurious wellness experience.

This year, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea will unveil Phase 2 of its ongoing development which will include a further 201 rooms and suites, new dining outlets, large, state-of-the-art and luxurious conference facilities and several meeting rooms which will be suited to incentive and conference packages for Russian corporations.
