ALBAWABA - On September 28, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei made his first remark after Israel claimed that Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah was killed in a Friday attack in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Khamenei cautioned Israel not to diminish Hezbollah's grip despite Nasrallah's supposed death. “The Zionist criminals must understand they are too insignificant to harm Hezbollah’s robust structure in Lebanon,” Khamenei stated.

He said “all resistance forces in the region stand alongside Hezbollah,” and that Hezbollah will lead the region's destiny.

Khamenei also promised Lebanon would make the "hated invader" regret its actions and blasted Israel for not learning from its year-long Gaza conflict.

Khamenei determined that all Muslims must assist the Lebanese people and Hezbollah and confront the usurping dictatorship.

Israeli Military Confirms Nasrallah's Death

The Israeli military declared Hassan Nasrallah “killed” in Friday airstrikes on Hezbollah's Beirut headquarters on Saturday. Israeli army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani tweeted, “Hassan Nasrallah has been killed.” Capt. David Abraham told AFP that Nasrallah had been “eliminated.”

A Beirut Hezbollah source said Nasrallah had been missing since Friday night, although he had previously appeared alive after similar reports during the 2006 conflict with Israel.

Hezbollah has not verified Nasrallah's death. Israeli forces called the Nasrallah operation "New Order."

Several prominent Hezbollah figures, including southern front commander Ali Karaki, were killed in the attack. The Israeli military said the strike happened when Hezbollah's leadership was preparing attacks against Israelis from the headquarters.
