Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, has relocated its Middle East regional headquarters from Istanbul to Dubai. This strategic move will support the realisation of the company’s ambitious growth targets in the region.
“Dubai, as global city and international business hub, offers favourable conditions for further expansion of our transport and logistics network as well as further investments in our contract logistics business. It is our objective to become one of the region’s leading logistics providers,” said Reinhard Lange, CEO of Kuehne + Nagel International AG at a press conference in Dubai.
At the heart of the planned expansion is Kuehne + Nagel’s state-of-the-art logistics centre, located in the Dubai Logistics City (DLC). DLC’s unique infrastructure allows Kuehne + Nagel to even better serve its customers by providing integrated logistics services, and, at the same time, increase efficiencies. Having been the first international logistics provider to go fully operational in DLC in 2009, Kuehne + Nagel’s logistics facility – featuring 17,000 sqm of warehouse space - has developed into the principal Kuehne + Nagel distribution hub for the Middle East.
“Dubai has always been of strategic importance to Kuehne + Nagel for bundling the flow of goods of our global and local customers and distributing their products across the entire Middle Eastern region as well as to Asia and Africa,” said Werner Kleymann, Regional Manager for Middle East, Central Asia and Turkey. “Due to the increasing demand for our integrated services, we will expand our site in DLC to a total of 32,000 sqm warehouse space. Just recently, we have modernised our 16,000 sqm logistics terminal in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.”
Kuehne + Nagel has been operating in the U.A.E. since 1978. The company employs 230 people at 6 locations.
