Iraq’s Kurdish fighters, known as Peshmerga forces, have made significant gains in their fight against the ISIL terrorist group.

The Kurdish fighters have managed to retake three villages from the ISIL militants in the northern city of Kirkuk.

Kurds have also recently managed to liberate areas in the city of Erbil.

The Iraqi army, backed by Peshmerga forces, has recaptured over two dozen villages southwest of Erbil, and east of the city of Mosul.
