Kuwait to Host International E-Commerce Conference

The Scientific Committee of the February 17-18 E-Commerce Conference announced that it has finalized the conference’s agenda and program, reported the Arabic Al Ra’y Al Aam. 

Organized by the ECO Center in cooperation with Microsoft, the conference will discuss issues of interest to governmental and non-governmental organizations keen to upgrade their traditional methods of operation by using Internet technology. 

The Kuwaiti daily cited the committee chairman, Ahmad Ibrahim, as saying that the conference will attract the participation of representatives of international companies which have strategies to develop their e-commerce services and plans to oparate in the Gulf region and the Middle East in general. 

Ibrahim indicated that the international companies that have so far confirmed their participation in the conference include Microsoft, Commerce One, Cisco Systems, and the international oil companies BP and Shell, in addition to Ericson, ECI, Data Dimension, Falcon Stream, Free Sign, and GIT.  

He added that a number of American lawyers who are specialists in the Internet and e-commerce issues would also be attending the conference – Albawaba.com
