Kuwait's elected parliament opened on Monday a new full nine-month legislative term. The new 50-member national assembly, which enjoys legislative and monitoring powers, was elected in July's general polls.
Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah sent a cable to Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi on the occasion of this new legislative term which was inaugurated by the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, KUNA reported.
The Crown Prince said that due to the fact that he is currently abroad, he was not able to attend the inauguration ceremony.
