Kuwaiti customs and security authorities have seized 1.5 million dollars worth of aphrodisiacs and diet pills in raids on shops and apartments illegally selling the products, a newspaper reported Tuesday.
Some twenty companies and apartments throughout the country were searched by authorities who found 6,000 types of different diet pills and sex-enhancing products including tablets, sprays, creams, soaps, gels, powders, oils and chewing gum, Al-Watan said.
The raids were the second operation in two weeks after extensive investigations by the authorities following up on advertisements published in the media promoting such products, some of which are illegal.
A number of the seized sex stimulants were for "increasing the length of the male organ or prolonging sexual intercourse," the daily said. Many of the products contained harmful and bogus substances, it reported.
Kuwait’s health ministry has banned non-specialized shops from selling diet products as well as other products for sexual purposes. (Albawaba.com)
