Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah left Kuwait for Britain Tuesday to undergo "a routine medical checkup," KUNA news agency reported.
It did not provide further details, but Sheikh Saad, aged 72, has had recurrent health problems in recent years.
The Kuwaiti crown prince, who has been prime minister since 1978, underwent colon surgery in early 1997 and has since spent long periods of time in Britain and the United States, especially at a United States Marine hospital in Maryland, for recovery and medical tests. (Albawaba.com)
