Iran will not be an obstacle in prospected negotiations over the demarcation of the maritime borderline crossing the Gulf continental shelf, Kuwait's Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Ahmad Sabah was quoted Saturday as saying by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The minister said Tehran "will not take a long time to thrash out this issue with us."

Asked whether he is optimistic about outcome of the possible talks with Tehran on the border issue, Sheikh Sabah said, "I believe that Iran will not be an obstacle. We have so far sensed good intentions from Iranian officials, said the agency.

"We raised this issue with them some time ago and they told us that they favored waiting till completion of the demarcation of the sea border with Saudi Arabia first before holding the negotiations with us," he said - Albawaba.com
