An operation to remove the appendix of Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah was "fully successful", the emir's office announced Saturday. The minister, 73, underwent surgery Friday for acute appendicitis, the information ministry said.

"Sheikh Sabah is in good health and there is no cause for worry," said Information Minister Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahd al-Sabah, quoted by KUNA news agency. Al-Watan newspaper reported Saturday that Sheikh Sabah was expected to be discharged from hospital within the next two days. (Albawaba.com)
