Kuwaiti Interior minister receives Iranian security delegation

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minster and Interior Minster announced in Kuwait Saturday night, during a meeting with an Iranian security delegation that his country is ready to strengthen cooperation ties with the Islamic Republic in various fields, especially in an anti-narcotics campaign.  

 

Sheikh Mohammad al-Khalid Al-Sabah, who was hosting a high-level Iranian security delegation said that both countries’ Interior Ministries should have much closer relations, particularly in security and disciplinary spheres, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported. 

 

In the course of the meeting, Sheikh Sabah expressed delight over the excellent level of existing relations between the two countries, which have witnessed drastic improvements during Iranian President Seyed Mohammad Khatami's tenure.  

 

Referring to his good memories during his last visit to Tehran, the Kuwaiti Interior Minister expressed hope to be able to answer his Iranian counterpart's invitation for an additional visit in the near future.  

 

For his part, Head of the Iranian delegation, Deputy Interior Minister of Security Affairs, Ali Asqar Ahamadi, also referred to the historical record of the two countries’ excellent neighborly ties and told the Kuwaiti official how enthusiastic the Iranian officials are to strengthen relations with all Arab nations, particularly with Iran's neighbors.
