Showing respect to Arabic cultural tradition and Islamic values and by special request, Cityscape Abu Dhabi has announced that the exhibition will be open to ladies’ only from 3 until 8pm on Wednesday 21 April.
“All male participants have been requested to vacate the exhibition before 3pm, allowing only female staff to remain. This gives businesswomen who feel more comfortable dealing with other like-minded women, the perfect opportunity to visit the exhibition,” said Rohan Marwaha, Managing Director, Cityscape.
“This initiative highlights our commitment to the emirate of Abu Dhabi and to the participants at Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2010. Working closely with Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), we have now organised the logistics to make this special event a reality,” added Marwaha.
According to Reuters, female investors in the Gulf region are estimated to hold $40 billion of the region’s wealth. Typically with inherited capital, female investors are using their wealth to control of their finances and ultimately achieve financial independence.
“Many female visitors are more comfortable discussing their investment or business plans with other women. It is a developing trend with many banks, government offices reserving areas for ladies’ only,” added Marwaha.
The normal opening hours of Cityscape Abu Dhabi are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The 4-day real estate industry showcase runs until Wednesday 21 April.
Cityscape Abu Dhabi is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
