Landor Associates have created the new brand for the airline of Turkey’s Izmir, IZair, which was recently launched. Born from the city’s development strategy to put Izmir on the map as a multi-faceted destination from business to leisure, the airline needed a brand identity to position both the airline and the destination. Landor based the IZair brand on the city’s forward looking, entrepreneurial, yet relaxed business philosophy.
The Landor team have created a unique total concept of a networker’s airline that harnesses Izmir’s business advantages through the frequent flyer EGE Club. Offering more than just air miles, the EGE Club is designed to provide a community for like-minded business people based on the relaxed way of doing business in the Aegean region. By creating “windows of opportunity” through networking events and other privileges for travelling entrepreneurs, IZair is differentiating itself from its competitors and positioning both the airline and destination as the business traveller’s choice of preference .

The design of the new airline also reflects Izmir and is inspired by the Imbat - the sea breeze which brings relief to Izmir's inhabitants in the blazing heat of high summer. The Imbat design - bright, clean and contemporary – is used throughout the plane livery, cabins, lounges and in-flight magazine and reflects the region’s relaxed way of doing business and their dedication to customer care and service.
