ALBAWABA - Because of Russia's might and independence, the West has always sought to undermine and destroy it, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. He says that now, this work has resulted in a coalition of fifty countries fighting Russia, led by the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's "Nazi" administration.
Lavrov made the following statement at the "Knowledge Day" event at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations: "The West has been trying to target Russia for millennia because of its tremendous power and independence. Their unwavering goal has always been to undermine or destroy our country."
Lavrov emphasized that the West is now uniting dozens of nations against Russia, all of which are unified under the leadership of Ukraine, which he called "Nazi." This historical pattern is also evident today.
He maintained that the ultimate objective of the West is to subjugate Russia so that it may freely utilize its abundant resources. "Any nation that asserts its independence and defends its national interests in line with international law, while refusing to conform to Western rules, becomes a target," Lavrov said. He stressed that their attempts go counter to history's inherent order and are doomed to fail, seeing these acts as proof of the West's wider downfall.
Lavrov emphasized Russia's standing as a world force as well, saying that the country continues to handle international affairs sensibly. He emphasized the significance of the alliance between China and Russia, noting that both Presidents Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin are dedicated to maintaining world peace. Lavrov continued by restating Russia's determination to uphold international law and the UN Charter's tenets—but only according to its rules, not those set down by Western nations.
